Be prepared…

To cycle over 8000 miles – from Singapore back home to the UK – has been the aim of Cherry and I for over a year – during which time we have done our best to get ready. As much as we have tried however I’m not sure really we’re fully managing to achieve the scout moto of ‘Be prepared’.
We have though spent some considerable time attempting to put our bike and gear together in such a way as to give us the best chance we could hope to cover the distance ahead, and it was with great pride that I showed this off to the scouts one evening – picture attached.
The interest that they showed, and intelligent questions they asked, was impressive and encouraging. However, just as from others that we discussed our aspirations with, there was some doubt as to whether we will achieve our goal of cycling the entire way home without, at some point, having to rely on some means of public transport.
Nevertheless at this point, a week before flying, Cherry and I are tremendously hopefully and excited about the adventure ahead.
