23rd Lancaster (Christ Church) Scout Group

There are a number of international expeditions in the coming years, and we’d like to encourage our young people to take part in as many as possible.
We’re trying to compile a list of events at the moment, here’s the best so far.

1. Red Rose – http://www.redrose.org.uk/ – 11th – 18th August 2018 – Cumbria, England – £165 ( + food and transport) – Age range is aged 10-17 at the time of the event.
2. 24th World Scout Jamboree – http://www.lonsdalescouts.org.uk/2018/01/24th-world-scout-jamboree-2019/ – 22nd July – 2nd August 2019 – West Virginia, USA – Price May Vary – Open to anyone born between 22 July 2001 and 21 July 2005.
3. District International expedition 2019 – August 2019 – Europe – Price may vary – Same Age Range as World Scout Jamboree(Booking not yet open)
4. County Menin Gate Expedition – https://www.westlancsscouts.org.uk/menin-gate-2018-applications-now-open/ – 8th – Monday 12th November 2018 – Ypres, Belgium – Price May Vary, no more than £395 (£50 deposit) – you must be Scout or Explorer age at the time of the Expedition.

With the exception of Red Rose, all of these trips require the young person to fill in an application from the relevant website, and may require the young person to attend a selection camp to compete for a space. Not gaining a place after a selection camp is not the end of the world, and you will usually be given first choice of a place on another event better suited to your abilities.
If you want to attend Red Rose, please tell your Leader, and we will send a group of Scouts if there is enough interest.
